As Expected Nov 14, 2009 Windows 7 is almost as advertised. True to Microsoft's reputation, it has some bugs and some applications which should run, will have difficulity - even if they work with Vista or even if they are advertised as "Windows 7 compatible." The reason is that the software companies develop and test their products with Beta versions of Windows 7. Then Microsoft makes "tweeks" in their final version before they release to the public. Some of these "tweaks" will make some applications unstable. Thus, expect that some of your applications will need to be upgraded before they will work. As to the product itself, it is definitely better than Vista as its faster, cleaner and more user friendly. I'd suggest that you get a good book on Windows 7 to have next to you as you learn how it works as some things have changed. On my system, I had to do a complete, clean install as the upgrade tool to automatically transition from Vista to Windows 7 didn't work and aborted several times when used. Thus, Microsoft is still Microsoft so don't believe all their hype about fixing their past problems with new releases.
Office Professional 2007 Oct 26, 2009 The product came and I needed to have tech support help because a prior copy was stolen or misused. It took me an hour or more on the phone to finally get the program to work without interruptions informing me the copy was a bogus copy.
The technician performed all the tasks needed and since then, the program has operated quite nicely. My advice is to purchase from a reliable source and avoid PayPal as they did nothing to assist me in tracking the source of the bogus copy of the MS Office program originating somewhere in China.

Perhaps the most annoying software upgrades ever Oct 18, 2009 I wish it were possible to give zero stars.
I've used Windows & Microsoft Office nearly my entire professional career and I'm advanced user of the Microsoft Office suite. But I'm absolutely fed up after dealing with years of system crashes, viruses, spyware, compatibility issues, driver issues, operating system re-installs, network problems, Vista, and now this- perhaps the most annoying software upgrade ever. "This" (Office 2007) came pre-installed on a new laptop I bought (now sold). I worked with it until the trial version expired and was really annoyed. I activated the product and worked with it for several months more and was still really annoyed. I found myself on Google as much as I was on the stupid application. How do I print? Where are the formatting icons in Excel? How do I see the templates? How do I run the visual basic scripts I've been running for the past 10 years? How do I customize the ribbon toolbar? As a 15 year user of Office products I got better, but not less annoyed, over time. I won't go into every problem that I had but suffice it to say that I had to re-learn most simple tasks and my productivity dropped by at least 30%. The number of useful new features I found through the flashy new interface? None. What an incredible waste of time. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR YOUR TIME ON THIS PRODUCT!!!!!!
I had a simple 2-step solution to all of these issues:
1. Get rid of all of the freaking Windows machines in my house and replace them with Macintosh computers - the time I've wasted managing those things is worth far more to me than the cost difference between Windows & Macintosh machines.
2. Install iWork and NeoOffice on them. I figure that if Microsoft is going to force me to learn an entirely new interface just to do the same things that I've always done, I'll choose which interface I want to learn. NeoOffice (an OpenOffice application for Mac) is a lot more familiar to those of you need a productivity suite and are familiar with previous versions of Office. It's also shareware for those of you looking to save a buck.
I couldn't be happier with the change.

Horribly difficult to use Oct 16, 2009 Despite its bugs and outdated graphics, Microsoft Office 2003 was a solid suite of applications. Rather than building on the success of its business staple, Microsoft chose to overhaul the applications with a completely unintuitive user interface, in which common commands are buried in a confusing set of tabs.
While excel and outlook are still somewhat usable because they kept their drop-down menus, Word and Powerpoint make me want to kill someone. It takes 10 minutes to find basic functions, and practically nothing is located in a place that would make sense. Despite some attractive graphics, my productivity has taken a step backward and I wish my company had not decided to adopt Office 2007. Complete waste of money.

Microsoft Office Professional 2007 Full Version Oct 12, 2009 We ordered and paid for two separate copies and only received the second disk in one box, no set up disk. I wrote and no one got back to me.
So if you don't need what you paid for go ahead and buy from them.
