The Christmas Sweater

If You Could Change Your Life by Reversing Your Biggest Regrets, Sorrows and Mistakes...Would You?

#1 New York Times bestselling author and renowned radio and television host Glenn Beck delivers an instant holiday classic about boyhood memories, wrenching life lessons, and the true meaning of the gifts we give to one another in love.

We weren't wealthy, we weren't poor -- we just were. We never wanted for anything, except maybe more time together....

When Eddie was twelve years old, all he wanted for Christmas was a bike. Although his life had gotten harder -- and money tighter -- since his father died and the family bakery closed...Eddie dreamed that somehow his mother would find a way to have his dream bike gleaming beside their modest Christmas tree that magical morning.

What he got from her instead was a sweater. "A stupid, handmade, ugly sweater" that young Eddie left in a crumpled ball in the corner of his room.

Scarred deeply by the realization that kids don't always get what they want, and too young to understand that he already owned life's most valuable treasures, that Christmas morning was the beginning of Eddie's dark and painful journey on the road to manhood. It will take wrestling with himself, his faith, and his family -- and the guidance of a mysterious neighbor named Russell -- to help Eddie find his path through the storm clouds of life and finally see the real significance of that simple gift his mother had crafted by hand with love in her heart.

Based on a deeply personal true story, The Christmas Sweater is a warm and poignant tale of family, faith and forgiveness that offers us a glimpse of our own lives -- while also making us question if we really know what's most important in them.

5The most beautiful story of redemption that I've ever read...  Nov 22, 2009
Dear Glenn,

I bought 15 copies of The Christmas Sweater, the book, and 8 of The Christmas Sweater, the picture book, and I've read both over the last weekend. I couldn't put the book down!

Tears came to my eyes several times. It was a wonderful account of your dreaming of getting the red bike for Christmas and the disappointment of not getting it and the tumultuous event that changed you into the man you are today. It was the most beautiful story of redemption that I have read. I am going to read it again, and again!

I am going to keep two and give all the rest of the books to my grown children, my one little grandson, and my friends for Thanksgiving and Christmas! There could be no greater gift for this holiday season!

Glenn, you're the best, and the brightest! I call you the gestalt guy!

Merry Christmas! God bless you and keep you!

5Great book!  Nov 21, 2009
I ordered this book last year and I really enjoyed it. I decided to buy it as a gift this year for a friend. I preordered another book by the same seller, so I was expecting a longer shipping time, but it still came faster than I expected. Packaging was great. Thanks!

5Great Non-Political Book that brought me to tears.  Nov 20, 2009
This book is a must holiday read wheather you love Glen or hate him. I read this book from cover to cover and by the end was in tears. Not a single political view is in this book, just a strong story about the power of love and forgiveness. In the end it reminds me of Mitch Albom's The Five People You Meet in Heaven.

1Ridiculous  Nov 09, 2009
How Glenn Beck can meld his vitriolic political opinions into such a sappy book is indeed a Christmas miracle (actually, it's more like a Festivus miracle). Don't waste your time.
